Colorless biflagellate unicells with 1 or 2 contractile vacuoles. Usually free swimming, occasionally attach to substrates, and may become amoeboid. Trichocysts in the form of mucocysts and discobolocysts inside membrane. Phagocytosis of bacteria, centric diatoms and small green algae. A colorless Ochromonas. |
